The graphic shows the solid formed by rotating the plot of y=x*sin(x)+6 about the x-axis. The plot was generated by Maple using the commands
with(plots);
tubeplot([x, 0, 0],x = 0 .. 3*Pi,radius = x*sin(x)+6);
One of the fun things we'll do during the semester is learn how to find the volume of solids like this.
